History of this field of activity

How did argus electronic get into the atmosphere research community?

The entry in this field took place at the end of 2010.
Back then a cooperation was concluded with the

Leibniz-Institute of Atmospheric Physics e.V. at the University Rostock (IAP)

and the

Institute of General Electrical Engineering at the University Rostock (IEF).

This was inspired by the IAP with the intention to develop a new measurement system for use on sounding rockets. This was the MSMA - Measurement System for the Middle Atmosphere.

The project was financially supported by the

Technologie-Beratungs-Institut GmbH (TBI)

and the

Ministry of Economics of Mecklenburg Vorpommern

The carrier system for the new instrument are sounding rockets. For the development of an ejection mechanism, the organisation and coordination before, during and after rocket campaigns for prototyp testing, argus electronic gmbh also had close cooperation with the

German Aerospace Center (DLR)

especailly the department

Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA)

Such rocket campaigns were executed in 2013 and 2015 at

Andoya Space Center (former Andoya Rocket Range)

at the atlantic coast of northern norway.

The project duration ended at the beginning of 2014, but we are continuously working on improvements.
From this project the argus electronic gmbh could gain alot of experiences, know-how and new kontacts inside the atmosphere research community, which led us to further development projects and products in the field.
The best example is the Telemetry - System, presented first in 2015 and available since 2016, which was primary developed for operations with research balloons.

Especially the long and close cooperation with the IAP is one of the driving forces behind our constant development of new ideas and their implementation in this field of activity.
